If we're destroying our trees and destroying our environment and hurting animals and hurting one another and all that stuff, there's got to be a very powerful energy to fight that. I think we need more love in the world. We need more kindness, more compassion, more joy, more laughter. I definetly want to contribute to that.
We strive to enforce positive change that inspires others to do the same.
Who Are We?
Animals Environment United was founded in 2015, to raise money for animal shelters. The first fundraising event, Rescue Runway, was created under this entity to creatively showcase adoptable pets. How you say? It was a fashion runway show for adoptable animals that also involved aspiring design students.
We partnered with a local art college who built our event into their curriculum. Multiple classes participated in the event, and students designed all of the outfits for the animal and human models in the show. While the runway show was the entertainment of the night, the event also incorporated a Silent Auction, live music, a doggy kissing booth, and kittens greeting you at the door.
Needless to say it is quite an event that continues to grow each year- only now under the reigns of the amazing Denver Animal Shelter. The event has raised over $75,000 to date, and is now the Shelter's largest fundraising event. We are very proud!
We will continue to support our founded event, Rescue Runway; however, we are excited to take on a couple new programs.
It takes nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal.
YouTube Channel: Be The Change- AEU
Our YouTube channel will be focused on visiting animal and environmental organizations locally, nationally, and internationally to raise awareness for organizations making a difference while showcasing:
- The incredible personalities of animals
- The importance of animals in our ecosystem
- How we can make a difference in our daily lives
- The impact of each organization we visit
- Fun educational facts about the organization and the animals within it
- How we can harmoniously coexist with animals
- How to react if you come across each animal in the wild
- Why we, the public, should care!
Each episode will encompass a Meet and Greet with the staff, a meet and greet interaction with the animals at the organization, and have an interesting twist where each organization will show us how they are unique from the rest.
Each season will have a 'funding pool' that the public can donate to. The funding pool will open when episode one of each season is released. It will close a week after the final episode of each season is released. After the funding pool closes, the most liked organization will receive 15% of the proceeds from that season's funding pool, 70% of the proceeds will be distributed equally to the other participating organizations. AEU will receive 15% of the proceeds, so that we can continue to provide our public service.
The proper use of science is not to conquer nature but to live in it.
Board Of Change
"You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete."- R. Buckminster Fuller
We believe that if we were to put a bunch of smart, motivated, and passionate people from organizations across nations, in the same room once a month, we will accomplish great things. We will be able to create a united message, educational programs, and a new model that fosters a better future for our animals and environment.
The Board of Change consists of the executives and key personnel from organizations across nations that meet once a month (virtually) to discuss ways to impact our community for the better.
Alone we can make a small difference; together, we can create large, impactful, and sustainable solutions.
Society is defined not only by what it creates, but by what it refuses to destroy.
Teach to Change
The change that we create today, is not sustainable if the next generation does not carry it on. For this reason, amongst many others, is why education is incredibly important to us!
Teach for Change is a program in which involves the organizations that we visit for our YouTube Channel, and the local schools around that organization. We are simply the middle man for this program, that connects these animal and environmental organizations to their local schools for speaking and educational opportunities.
This way, not only are we raising awareness for animal and environmental organizations, but also giving kids the opportunity to learn first hand: why these organizations are important, why they should care, and how they can become involved overtime.
He that plants trees loves others besides himself.
